What I’m Bringing to the Church Picnic

We were asked to bring a side and a dessert to the church picnic.  I am stretching the side a good bit by bringing a jello salad.  It has the word “salad” in the name so it can pass as a side.  Right?  I hope so.

I made this jello salad before for a family get-together, and my dad, in particular, was really enjoying it.  I decided to try it again.  We’ll see how it goes.  It is incredibly easy.

For my actual dessert, I am trying a completely new recipe for me.  It was incredibly easy and looks amazing.  I let my teenage son lick the bowl from the cream topping.  This morning, he asked me which one had that vanilla cream so he would know which dessert (yeah, okay, I admit they’re both desserts) to eat at the picnic.

They call this dessert “wickedly easy”, and I can’t agree more.

Church picnics are so much fun.  I love watching all the little ones running around and playing together.  It is always a great time.

What are your favorite dishes to bring to church picnics?  I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
