Chocolate Strawberry Cobbler Recipe from the Slow Cooker

This incredibly decadent Chocolate Strawberry Cobbler is super easy to make in the slow cooker with very little effort, but it has lots of flavor. I recommend that you serve with ice cream. My husband had to settle for whipped cream, but he has forgiven me.

If you’ve been following Trisha Dishes lately, you know that I cooked a romantic dinner for my husband and myself. I’ve already shared the Raspberry Cordial Cocktail and the Cucumber Caprese Salad. Well, this Chocolate Strawberry Cobbler was our dessert. My husband’s only complaint was that I hadn’t bought ice cream to go with it. Don’t make my mistake!

On the bottom of my slow cooker, I pour a can of strawberry pie filling and smooth it evenly over the bottom. I used a 2 quart slow cooker which is rather small. If you are using a larger slow cooker, you may choose to double (or even triple) this recipe. This recipe is perfect for a 2 quart slow cooker, though.

Over the strawberry pie filling, I sprinkled half of a box of chocolate cake mix. It doesn’t have to be exactly half of a box. A little more or less won’t really make a huge difference.

Cut a half of a stick of butter into pats. I put the pats of butter over the chocolate cake mix. Replace the lid onto the slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours. My husband highly recommends eating this goodness with ice cream. This is my second favorite way to have strawberries and chocolate together.
