Bourbon Sunrise Cocktail #Recipe

My husband and I enjoy having a cocktail every so often. This Bourbon Sunrise is one of the first cocktails I made for him. Bourbon Sunrise is a pretty drink that is so super easy to make. The red and orange colors really to mimic the colors of a sunrise.

You only need three ingredients for this fabulously pretty drink. Orange juice gives this cocktail a lovely citrus note. Grenadine syrup has a pomegranate flavor which gives the drink a fruity flavor plus that cool red color at the bottom. Bourbon gives the drink its bang. A virgin drink or family-friendly version could easily be made by omitting the Bourbon. Orange juice with grenadine is delicious, too.

Bourbon Sunrise Cocktail is a beautiful adult beverage with fruity flavors.

Bourbon Sunrise is based off of a tequila sunrise, but I would take Bourbon over tequila any day. That might just be my southerner coming out.

I start by pouring the orange juice into a cocktail glass. I used a martini glass in the picture above. A daiquiri glass would be nice, too. The grenadine is added next by carefully pouring it down the side of the glass. It settles down below the orange juice until it is stirred. Lastly, I add the Bourbon. You could certainly add more Bourbon to make a stiffer drink. I serve the Bourbon Sunrise with the pretty colors showing separated and only stir right before drinking. Once stirred, the drink takes on a lovely peachy hue.
