There is a hidden message in the Hebrew word Tov (pronounced tove) which means good. During creation, when God said it was good, He said it was tov. Tov is also used in Genesis 50:20.

Genesis 50:20

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

In this verse, Joseph was speaking to his brothers, but it is often used today as a rallying cry of faith: What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good, in order to bring about His Will.

We can actually see a picture of this in the very word “Tov”. Remember that Hebrew is read from right to left and is spelled tet-vav-beit as in the picture below.

The Hebrew letter tet represents a serpent. The letter vav represents nails. The letter beit represents a house. However, a Hebrew man built his house by taking a wife and having children rather than building a dwelling place.

Therefore, in the Hebrew word good or Tov, we have the picture of a serpent using nails to come against the household or family of God… but God called it good.

Because, you see, the serpent thought that if he killed the Only Son then he could end the bloodline and crush the family of God, but the sacrifice of Jesus on that old wooden cross with Roman nails set into motion a baby boom into the family of God that continues to this day. Not only did the enemy fail to end the bloodline, but he accelerated his own demise as the new babies that were born into the bloodline daily came with the power and authority of Jesus the Messiah as well as the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The enemy had a plan, but God’s plan was better… and God called it GOOD!

If you do not know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you can accept Him and His sacrifice for you today with a simple prayer.
