I hope you have enjoyed my recipes for Shredded Chicken and my variations. I’m always searching for easy, delicious, and interesting new recipes to try. It usually takes very little to spark my imagination, and I am off on another kitchen adventure. This recipe for shredded chicken and gravy is no exception.

This recipe calls for chicken gravy. I do not usually make my own chicken gravy (unless I put a whole chicken in the slow cooker), but kudos to you if you do. I alternate between the powdered gravy mix (very inexpensive) and the jarred gravy (very quick). Sometimes time is at a higher premium than money. Sometimes money trumps time.
My grandfather used to call this recipe SOS which stood for an ugly four-letter word on a shingle. Apparently, that was what he and his fellow military buddies called the mystery meat with gravy that they were served in the military during WWII. I hope that doesn’t turn you away because this really is yummy.
