Slow Cooker Ranch Potatoes #Recipe

I was looking for a good side dish to make with my sloppy joes.  A good side dish has to be just as easy as my sloppy joe recipe while still being delicious at the same time.  Slow cooker ranch potatoes was the perfect option.  I tossed them into a separate slow cooker for one of the easiest dinners I have ever made.  These would be really great at your next cookout, too.

With only 3 simple ingredients, slow cooker ranch potatoes come together very quickly and with minimal fuss.  You probably know by now that I am partial to extremely easy recipes.  Cutting potatoes was the most complicated part of the recipe, and cutting potatoes is NOT complicated at all.

I used russet potatoes for this recipe because I had them on hand.  Red or white potatoes would be wonderful in this recipe, though.  I also used butter because butter is yummy, but olive oil could be easily substituted for a healthier version.

I simply cut my potatoes into bite-sized pieces that are roughly ( I mean, really roughly) the same size and tossed them into the slow cooker.  I melted a stick of butter in a small bowl in the microwave.  I added a tablespoon of dry ranch seasoning mix to the melted butter.  (Dry ranch seasoning mix is found near the salad dressings because you can add milk & mayonnaise to it to make your own ranch dressing at home.)  I stir together the ranch and butter then drizzle it over the potatoes.

I cooked them on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.  However cooking times can vary significantly from slow cooker to slow cooker.  Knowing your appliance is a must.  The only way to really know your appliance is to use it.  The more you use it; the more intuitive you will become with cooking times.

Once they were finished cooking, I gave the whole thing a good tossing to make sure they were well-covered in the butter ranch.  I could hardly wait to dig into this buttery potato goodness.
